Production of Fredeburger Schiefer®
Large saws, hardened with industrial diamonds, cut the raw slate into the required sizes.
The sawed slate blocks are then transported to the splitting machines on conveyor belt.
Slabs of around 5 mm thickness are split out of the raw slate using splitting chisels and wooden hammers.
Completed covering slabs are cut from the split slate by the robot.
